On collaboration, and presenting Median!

Happy World Wide Knit in Public Day! I’ve always enjoyed this day, because it’s a chance for us Knitter’s to show community, and engage with each other in a larger way. I’ll be spending it at my favourite place, the Purple Purl! For those of you who haven’t heard yet, we are Knitting Knockers to send of for women who have had mastectomies. There will be free kits supplied by Estelle Yarns!

I also have an exciting announcement today – I’m releasing the pattern for the first of a collection of collaborations between Rhichard Devrieze and myself.

Median is an oversized scarf, knit along its length. Short rows are used to create wedges that are simple to work, but cause the colours to taper in triangular shapes that oppose each other.
Even though your rows will start out very long, they quickly shorten and build up fabric easily.

The design was inspired by the way I saw a surfboard painted, with stripes that ran on angles.
It was only natural to pair it with the intensely saturated colours available in the Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze.

The Stippled variety adds great interest to simple textures.

I hope you enjoy it.

Happy #wwkip!
